§01
Challenge

Challenge.

The London Underground Connect video WAN runs over a complex mix of GbE, MPLS, SDH and ATM transport technologies.

This network needed sustained design ownership and NMC integration across successive migrations without disrupting core operations, paving the way for TfL's upcoming £1.5bn optical overhaul.

§02
Approach

Approach.

In NMC Integration, Design Interface and PICOT roles over a decade, we delivered bespoke network-management and HMI systems.

We handled capacity planning, and ran upgrades and migrations for the LU Connect video WAN while maintaining continuous service.

§03
Scope of work

Scope of work.

  • Network-management (NMC) system integration.
  • Bespoke HMI system delivery.
  • Long-term capacity planning.
  • Live service upgrade and migration execution.
  • PICOT (Person In Charge Of Testing) responsibilities.
§04
Outcome

Outcome.

Continuous design and NMC-integration ownership of a core operational video backbone through multiple upgrade and migration cycles.
