§01
Challenge

Challenge.

London Underground's Connect network, the Multi-Services Network carrying operational radio, CCTV and SCADA, is being renewed while in continuous service. The transmission and migration design had to be buildable, assurable under TfL and LU, and future-proofed for CBTC signalling comms and the Emergency Services Network. A safety-of-life estate leaves no room for rework.

§02
Approach

Approach.

As Senior Design Engineer, Transmission Systems, we led the transmission and migration design of the fibre and SDH bearer. We produced the Scope of Works, LLDs and method statements, delivered the IP-CCTV migration covering decoder trays, video switching and NMC integration, managed the Nokia interface integration, and ran capacity planning with deliberate headroom for CBTC and ESN.

§03
Outcome

Outcome.

A buildable transmission and migration design for a live operational metro network, engineered with future-service headroom and delivered under TfL and LU assurance.
